Giving a shout-out to my long-time pal, Chef John Manion of El Che Bar in Chicago. Like me, he’s been in the food & beverage industry for a very long time and he’s always pushed forward.
The Argentine-inspired El Che Bar is his fifth restaurant, and I have to say that it’s his best project to date. He’s definitely hit his stride, from the inviting, sexy vibe to the sizzling prime steaks and seafood on the open hearth.
I was delighted to stop in for my birthday dinner. Even the sundae I’m holding is an Argentine-influenced masterpiece. The Luxardo cherries and bits of chocolate were soaked in Fernet. I wanted to devour the entire thing, but then I would not be writing this …
