Chicago Gourmet Goes Virtual for 30 Days
Yours Truly is a part of the star-studded, 'Go Gourmet LIVE Virtual Demonstration Series' featuring chefs Art Smith, Stephanie Izard and Kwame Onwuachi.
As the pandemic rages on, get ready for Chicago Gourmet to look completely different this year. It’ll be 30 days of virtual programming throughout September, which will include the ever-popular “Hamburger Hop” renamed “Can’t Stop the Hop” and featuring 100 competitors offering burgers in-house or for delivery/carry out. There will also be an auction, dinner series, and Go Gourmet LIVE Virtual Demonstration Series spotlighting the likes of chefs Rick Bayless, Stephanie Izard, Lorena Garcia and Kwame Onwuachi.
Chicago Gourmet is the city’s premier annual event for local restaurants to shine, and this year the focus is on the folks behind the scenes who don’t get all the glory. All efforts will support the IRAEF Restaurant Employee Relief Fund. The event is put on by the Illinois Restaurant Association and presenting sponsor Southern Glazer’s Wine & Spirits.
I will have the honor of emceeing three of the events for the “Go Gourmet LIVE Virtual Demonstration Series,” and I hope you’ll be able to join me. Tickets are available now, and you’ll be able to buy tickets to either watch the demo or watch and cook alongside the celebrity chefs with ingredients from a meal kit for four.
Here are the chefs below. Click the photos to buy tickets to the virtual events. See you there!
