Celebrate Dr. King’s Birthday with Purpose
Here are a few ways you can make a difference throughout the year
On what would have been Dr. Martin Luther King’s 95th birthday, Jan. 15, reflect on his most powerful and most impactful words. It doesn’t matter where we are in life, we could all learn something from them.
Watch these speeches:
Dr. King Speaking on Federal Subsidies for White Land Owners
“I've Been to the Mountaintop” - April 3, 1968 - Final Speech
“The Other America”
“The Three Evils of Society”
“I Have A Dream” - August 28, 1963
Also: Read the Letter from the Birmingham Jail written by Dr. King after he was arrested while protesting segregation in Birmingham, Alabama, in April 1963. It was a major call to action at the time, especially in response to the criticism his activity was receiving at the time.
And finally, here are some key nonprofit organizations to consider supporting:
American-Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee
Asian Pacific American Labor Alliance
