A One-Woman Popsicle Stand
Long-time hospitality worker Neomi Negron turns her frozen-treat obsession into a full-time job.
I love hearing the backstories of my guests on the FEASTS AND FASHION podcast.
You can tell that they truly love what they do for a living. I especially enjoy their stories when they’re making money off a childhood obsession or pastime.
Neomi Negron is a great example. The Asheville, North Carolina, native was a casualty of the pandemic, and last year she was forced to find another way to make a living. Instead of leaving the hospitality industry all together, she decided to launch a popsicle company.
It might sound risky, but thus far, she’s been successful with Buggy Pops, making connections and selling out every time she pulls up on her tricycle filled with up to 2,000 hand-crafted — all by her — popsicles in unique flavors like banana pudding and mango elderberry. She sells them at farmers’ markets, special events, private parties, and more.
Here’s a short clip below of Negron describing her offerings in detail. For the entire episode, head to the FEASTS AND FASHION podcast on your favorite podcast platform.
Great conversation!
